CamonVietnam is written by Dmitry Migunov, an expat and digital nomad who has lived in Vietnam since 2020. This page explains how articles get made and how I keep them accurate.
Who writes the articles
Every article is written or reviewed by me. When an article is based on my own trips or life in Vietnam, it says so. When I haven’t been somewhere personally, I write from verified sources and don’t pretend otherwise.
How I research
- First-hand experience: places I’ve visited, transport I’ve used, rules I’ve dealt with myself.
- Official sources for anything that can change: the e-visa portal (evisa.gov.vn), government and immigration announcements, airline and operator websites, official ticket prices.
- Local knowledge from people who live and work in the places I write about.
Articles about visas, money and safety link to their official sources.
Fact-checking
Every number in an article (prices, distances, opening hours, visa fees) is checked before publishing. Prices are given with the date they were checked. If sources disagree, I say so and explain which one I trust and why.
Sources are used in this order of priority:
- Official sources: government portals, immigration announcements, operators’ and attractions’ own websites.
- My own recent experience.
- Reputable travel publications and local contacts, cross-checked against each other.
Keeping articles up to date
Every article shows the date it was last updated. Articles about visas and entry rules are reviewed every [3] months, and destination guides at least once a year. When a rule changes, I update every article that mentions it, not only the newest one.
Photos
Photos on this site are my own unless a caption credits someone else. I don’t use AI-generated images presented as real places.
Independence
Some links on the site are paid affiliate links (see the Affiliate Disclosure). They don’t decide what I write. I don’t accept payment for positive reviews, and sponsored content is always labeled as such.
Corrections
If you find a mistake or something out of date, email [email protected] with the page link. I check every report. If I find an error, I fix it, and if the correction changes the meaning of the article, I note it at the end.
