Privacy Policy

CamonVietnam (camonvietnam.com) is run by Dmitry Migunov (“I,” “me”). This policy explains what data this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version: I don’t ask you for personal data. There are no forms, no accounts and no newsletter sign-ups. The site does use two analytics tools, Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica, and they collect data about how the site is used.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Dmitry Migunov, Vietnam. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].

What data is collected

Analytics data. When you visit the site, Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica collect information about your visit:

  • pages you view, how long you stay and how you got here (search, link, direct visit);
  • device type, browser, operating system and screen size;
  • approximate location (country and city, based on your IP address);
  • a random identifier stored in a cookie, so repeat visits can be counted.

Google Analytics 4 doesn’t log or store IP addresses. Yandex Metrica uses the IP address to estimate location. Session recording (Yandex Metrica’s Session Replay) is turned off on this site.

Server logs. My hosting provider, [Hosting provider], keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, time of request) to keep the site secure and running. These logs are deleted after 30 days.

Security and delivery. The site runs through Cloudflare, which speeds up page loading and filters malicious traffic. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request data.

Emails. If you write to [email protected], I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. I use it only to reply.

I don’t collect special categories of data, and I don’t sell or rent anyone’s data.

You don’t have to give any data to read this site. If you block analytics cookies, everything works the same. No decisions about you are made automatically, and no profiles are built for advertising.

Why the data is used, and on what legal basis

  • Analytics: to understand which articles are useful and what to improve. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by blocking analytics (see below).
  • Server logs and Cloudflare: to protect the site from attacks, deliver pages quickly and fix errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Emails: to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to your request.

Who receives the data

International transfers

Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Yandex processes data in several countries outside the European Economic Area, including countries the EU doesn’t recognize as providing adequate data protection. You can stop analytics data from being sent to these providers by blocking analytics cookies or using the opt-out tools below.

How long data is kept

  • Google Analytics: 2 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Yandex Metrica: 1 year, then deleted automatically.
  • Server logs: 30 days.
  • Emails: as long as the conversation needs, then deleted within 12 months.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU, the UK or another place with similar laws, you have the right to:

  • access the data held about you;
  • correct it;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict or object to its processing;
  • get a copy in a portable format;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

Most analytics data isn’t linked to your name, so the easiest way to control it is through cookies (see the Cookie Policy). For anything else, email [email protected] and I’ll reply within 30 days.

Opting out of analytics

US visitors

I don’t sell personal information and don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you’re a California resident, you can still ask what data is held about you by emailing [email protected].

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their data.

Links to other sites

Articles link to other websites, including booking sites and official visa portals. Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies before you share anything with them.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
